ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Training Services Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the Club's team of trainers and massage therapists across the AFL, AFLW, and VFL programs, and collaborating with the Club's Dietician for performance nutrition support. This role ensures the consistent delivery of high-quality athlete support during training sessions and match days, while fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and alignment with Richmond's values.

NB. This role is part time 0.6FTE, fixed term: 5 January -31 October, 2026.

The position requires availability for the following:

  1. 2026 AFL Pre Season x3 training sessions per week
  2. 2026 AFL Home & Away Season x2 training sessions per week & Game Day.
  3. Assistance and work in AFLW and VFL program as required. Specifically, duties include setting up and managing the AFLW massage program.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Management of Sports Trainers and Massage Services:
    Lead and coordinate all trainers and massage therapists across AFL, AFLW, and VFL programs, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and professional service delivery.
  2. Athlete Performance and Nutrition Support:
    Assist the Lead Dietician to provide fueling and hydration strategies for training, travel, and competition. Assist the lead dietician and other performance staff to monitor nutrition related fatigue markers in training and in competition.
  3. Undertake other duties as required to support the Football Department.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  1. Formal qualifications and experience in massage therapy, remedial massage, or relevant higher education.
  2. Sports Trainer Level 1 minimum.
  3. Proven experience leading trainer teams in elite or semi-elite sporting environments.
  4. Strong organisational and communication skills.
  5. Demonstrated knowledge of athlete care and massage therapy coordination.
  6. Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  7. Commitment to Richmond's high-performance standards and values.
