About the opportunity:
As an Employment Support Mentor in Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA), you will provide vital post-placement support to participants with disabilities, ensuring they successfully transition into and sustain meaningful employment. Your role will focus on ongoing coaching, problem-solving, and workplace advocacy to help participants navigate challenges, build confidence, and thrive in their new roles. You will work closely with both employees and employers, facilitating workplace adjustments, addressing concerns, and promoting inclusive work environments. A key part of the role is gathering evidence of sustained employment outcomes, including tracking participant progress, collecting employer feedback, and ensuring compliance with program reporting requirements. By maintaining regular contact with participants, you will provide guidance, encouragement, and practical solutions to support long-term job retention and career growth.
What being a Employment Support Mentor involves:
- Provide tailored, ongoing support to participants after they start work to ensure smooth transitions.
- Stay in regular contact with participants and employers to address any job retention risks early.
- Work with employers to implement workplace adjustments and promote inclusive practices.
- Deliver support flexibly, including on-site visits to participants and employers.
- Use the Employment Fund (EF) appropriately to sustain employment outcomes.
- Collaborate with employers, participants, and services to support long-term career growth.
- Track progress and collect feedback to meet program reporting and retention milestones.
- Submit accurate documentation and evidence to support claims and meet contractual obligations.
- Follow claims processes, using internal systems to record support and upload required evidence.
- Maintain compliance with all contractual, legislative, and evidence requirements.

- You are skilled at building relationships through clear communication and great customer service.
- You are experienced in supporting people with disabilities to retain employment and grow.
- You are knowledgeable about workplace adjustments and strategies for sustainable employment.
- You are proactive in spotting issues early and providing tailored coaching solutions.
- You are comfortable working within compliance frameworks and meeting performance targets.
- You are professional, reliable, and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- You are confident using Microsoft Office tools.
