Communications & PR Advisor
Hope & Glory is delighted to be partnering with a respected not-for-profit cultural organisation to appoint a Communications & PR Advisor - a key role shaping how this organisation tells its story and manages its reputation.
The organisation
This appointment is with a well-regarded not-for-profit cultural organisation based in metropolitan Melbourne. The organisation operates a major creative precinct and works across arts, learning and community engagement. It's a values-driven workplace with a focus on inclusion, sustainability and community impact.
You'll join a team that cares deeply about creative programming, audience experience and long-term cultural value - but also about growing reach, visibility and participation. It's a dynamic setting with a clear sense of purpose and a leadership team focused on renewal and growth.
The opportunity
This is a highly collaborative role that delivers communications, media relations and storytelling activity aligned to the organisation's purpose and voice. It's hands-on and strategic - ideal for someone who enjoys crafting compelling narratives and influencing how audiences, media and stakeholders engage.
Reporting to a senior marketing and comms manager, you'll take the lead on media engagement, content creation and executive communications, ensuring consistency and clarity across all channels. You'll also work closely with the marketing and campaigns advisor to deliver integrated, audience-centred campaigns.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to)
- Delivering PR strategies that build awareness and advocacy
- Shaping the organisation's narrative, key messages and tone of voice
- Building relationships with journalists and media outlets
- Producing high-quality written content
- Advising leadership on messaging, reputation and communications
- Support integrated campaigns in partnership with marketing.
About you
You're a confident and adaptable communicator with strong writing, editing and media engagement skills. You understand how to balance creativity and rigour - using insight, empathy and precision to shape messages that resonate.
You can point to examples where your communications have strengthened reputation, influenced outcomes or deepened engagement. You may already operate at the intersection of community, business, government and media — perhaps within a public-sector, policy, or stakeholder-rich environment where trust, transparency and influence are key.
Experience in arts, culture or purpose-driven organisations would be ideal, but those from broader communications, public affairs or media backgrounds with a genuine interest in community and culture are equally encouraged to apply.
You're composed under pressure, curious about audiences, and motivated by crafting clear, authentic and impactful communication.
What's on offer
- A values-led workplace with genuine purpose and community focus
- Flexible, part-time working (three days per week) within a collaborative and creative team
- A setting that blends cultural storytelling, media engagement and strategic communication
- Salary circa $85,000 + super + salary packaging (pro rata).
- 2 year contract.
