We are offering a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced Lawyer to join our dynamic Military Compensation space in Brisbane. This specialised role is ideal for lawyers with a background in the personal injury law, particularly those with experience in military or comparable personal injury schemes.
As one of Australia's leading military compensation law firms, we are dedicated legal representatives for our veterans, defence personnel and their families. Our team is committed to delivering expert legal support, honouring the service and sacrifices of those we represent.
Our lawyers are specialised across the legislative frameworks that govern military compensation and rehabilitation. We are dedicated to helping our clients fully understand all of their rights and entitlements, ensuring they receive the support they deserve.
About The Role
In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day conduct of client matters, including preparation of matters for assessment, reconsideration and appeal. Supported by a highly engaged and proficient administration team, you will be a key point of contact for our clients.
We are seeking a professional with strong legal acumen, excellent communication and analytical skills and a client focused approach to their work.
Leadership capability will be highly valued but is not essential to be considered for this opportunity. A proactive mindset and willingness to grow into leadership will be equally regarded.
Some of the key responsibilities include
- Providing legal advice to clients on matters relevant to the client's legal claim
- Interpret and apply relevant legislation to matters within the practice group
- Consistently achieve favourable outcomes for client matters
- Build and manage relationship with clients, including expectation setting, providing regular updates on strategy and matter progression
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal procedures, rules and regulations
- Work collaboratively with your legal support team

To excel in this role, you will have a proven ability to empathise with our clients whilst maintaining a high level of professionalism, along with
- Post admission legal experience, ideally in military compensation or personal injury
- Experience in legal administration
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to multi-task
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment
- Sound judgement and effective problem-solving skills
