About the role:

Kenmore West Kindergarten & Preschool (KWK) is seeking a highly motivated educator to work as an assistant educator in a part-time job share role.

KWK is an incredibly special and unique learning environment for young children and their families. Our kindergarten is homely, safe, and welcoming with a happy and relaxed atmosphere. We have a beautiful, engaging, and natural environment, rich in biodiversity and opportunities for children to explore, investigate and wonder.

The successful applicant will pride themselves on their passion and dedication for early education within the learning environment. We are seeking a dynamic educator with exceptional skills who can build relationships with children, families, and colleagues and who is committed to furthering their own learning as an early childhood professional.

Kenmore West Kindergarten is an affiliate of C&K, run by a volunteer parent management committee. We are a stand-alone, single unit Kindergarten running two groups over the week with a 5-day fortnight program 8.35am – 2.45pm.

Educator hours of work are 8.00am – 3.30pm.

Your experience, skills and attitude will include:

·       An approved Diploma level qualification

·       A current Working with Children Blue Card or exemption card

·       Current First Aid, CPR and Asthma and Anaphylaxis certification

·       Experience working in a kindergarten or early childhood setting

·       The ability to help implement a child led program, ensuring the needs of individuals are met

·       A demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member and to support the teacher/directors

·       Well-developed interpersonal skills

·       An understanding of early childhood development theories and general knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures

·       The ability to actively support and guide children's behaviour in positive ways

·       A commitment to natural play settings, an inclusive environment, children's right to play, and sustainable practices

·       Demonstrated recognition, acceptance, and respect towards Australia's First Nations people – Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders people

·       A passion for creating and delivering a stimulating learning environment

·       An understanding of the provision of a safe, well planned indoor and outdoor learning environment

·       Awareness of the National Quality Framework, Early Years Learning Framework, C&K's Living and Learning Together and the Queensland Kindergarten Guidelines

·       The skills and abilities to document children's behaviour, learning and development
