Built Environment Manager

• Full time maximum term position to March 2027
• Salary range: $138,909 - $162,060 (pro rata) plus super plus salary packaging
• Up to $15,900 in salary packaging and hybrid WFH & office model

About the roleIn this role you will lead VLA's development, management and use of our built environment - that is our 16 VLA offices across Victoria, and the facilities used by VLA at Courts, including Duty Lawyer offices. You will oversee office leasing, contracts for the provision of built environment services and building management, as well as minor capital works projects. You will also lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary team including facilities, fleet, and security staff.

In addition to leading your team of three, you will also be required to work across all parts of VLA, together with external stakeholders (e.g. CSV) and contractors (especially maintenance & trades). A practical and flexible approach is required, together with great stakeholder and project management skills.

This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country.

About youAs our ideal candidate, you will possess:

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, or significant equivalent professional experience (mandatory).
• Proven experience in leading a facilities, fleet, and/or security management team, preferably in a legal services or public sector environment, with an ability to lead, manage and develop others.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of leasing, property and fleet management legislation, standards, and best practices.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with a demonstrated ability to drive organisational change programs, influence, manage relationships effectively.
