About the Role
Coordinate the development of Midford Schoolwear products ensuring quality, production lead time and budget requirements are met. Located at Milperra, reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for the fabric and garment development and coordination of Schoolwear products. You will also liaise with overseas factories, requests, review and assessment of samples.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Off-shore and local quoting of garments. Liaise with various suppliers to obtain quotes to achieve business targets.
- Responsible to develop garment and fabric samples according to Midford's requirements and standards from Sales Representatives and customer approval.
- Able to conduct quality control inspection of garments and fabrics including but not limited to lab dips, hand looms, garment design concepts and manufacturing details.
- Attention to detail during the style set up process in ERP/SAP software and PLM system.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding the sample and production lead times to achieve business targets and requirements as per customer expectation and satisfaction.
- Maintain Midford Fabric and Trim Library including testing protocols.
- Be able to investigate product quality issues, conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective action to prevent recurrence of the issues.
- Fair understanding of the product life cycle from development concepts to delivery into warehouse.
Skills/Experience
- Min 1-2 years experience in product development, Production or Tertiary education (Fashion and Textile)
- Fabric construction and testing an advantage.
- Garment construction and manufacturing knowledge is essential.
- Some experience and knowledge in pattern making and grading in outerwear for both children and adults.
- Knowledge working with Microsoft Office.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise competing tasks.
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
