What you'll do
- Partner with the Head of Governance to embed best-practice frameworks, policies, and delegations.
- Provide high-level advice on compliance, risk, insurance, and the Local Government Act.
- Ensure Council's policies and local laws are accurate, transparent, and legally sound.
- Support leaders across the organisation to navigate complex legislation with confidence.
- Lead, coach, and support a small team motivating them to deliver quality outcomes and embrace continuous improvement.

About You
You may be working in governance, compliance, boards, or corporate advisory right now but you're looking for your next step where your expertise really counts. This is your chance to make the leap into local government and see the impact of your work on a whole community.
- Degree-qualified in Business, Public Administration, Management or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong background in governance or compliance whether in the private, not-for-profit, or public sector and ready to apply it in a new context.
- Comfortable interpreting legislation and frameworks, and turning them into practical solutions leaders can use.
- A trusted advisor with the people skills to build credibility across an organisation.
- A confident, supportive leader who can motivate and guide others.
- Solutions-focused, resilient, and committed to continuous improvement.
