Fire Technician

Fire Detection Technologies is a fire asset maintenance based company located in Cairns. We are seeking the following in a candidate:

• A well-presented licenced Cert 3 FPC/ electrician and an all-rounder who is willing to conduct Asset 2 work, and/or willing to learn.
• As well as electrical stream inspection and testing,
• Someone who can think outside the box and resolve issues and offer our clients solutions,
• The ability to fault find diagnose and rectify defective system components,
• The ability to program fire panels is a definite advantage,
• Confidence with QE90, I2000, EV3000 systems. Desired but not essential.
• Vesda diagnostics and fault finding along with gaseous and hazardous suppression systems. Desired but not essential.
• Fire fan control would be advantageous however not necessary, as we are willing to train the right candidate.
• Experience with FireMate would be an advantage, however not essential as training would be provided.
• Be a strong team player with a sense of humour who can also work autonomously.

FDT has a professional work premises and work environment with an organised well stocked warehouse to complete repairs in a timely manner and provide premium service to our valued clients.

A company work van, uniforms and phone will be supplied as well as a 38 hour work week and in house training on fire panels, when time permits. All specialised testing equipment is supplied, the successful applicant must supply their own hand tools.

Some on call work may be required from time to time. FDT does not do remote work. This application is open to Cairns residents or those willing to relocate at their own cost. An attractive remuneration is offered dependant on the applicant's qualifications and experience. A 6 Month probation period will apply.
