The Opportunity
We are seeking motivated individuals to join our team, with two entry pathways available:
- Trainee Fire Service Technician – for those looking to start a career in the fire protection industry.
- Qualified Fire Service Technician / Electrician – for skilled professionals already holding a QBCC Fire Licence or an electrical licence.
Both roles offer rewarding career opportunities, hands-on work, and the chance to contribute to the safety of our community.
Key Responsibilities
As a Trainee:
- Complete on-the-job and theoretical training (Cert II).
- Assist Fire Service Technicians in the field, workshop, or marine environment.
- Learn directly from experienced technicians through on-the-job mentoring.
- Inspect, test, and maintain fire protection equipment, including extinguishers, hose reels, and lay flat hoses.
- Obtain a Construction White Card and industry inductions.
- Accurately document work in line with compliance requirements.
- Travel across Far North Queensland and meet our valued customers.
As a Skilled Technician:
- Carry out servicing, installation, and commissioning of fire protection systems and equipment.
- Conduct Electrical stream inspections and repairs (if licensed)
- Fault find, diagnose, and repair defective system components.
- Work with fire detection, emergency lighting, and gaseous or hazardous suppression systems.
- Use Simpro software (training provided).
- Work both independently and as part of the team to deliver premium service.

About You

- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Mechanical or technical aptitude, confident working with tools.
- Ability to lift equipment up to 25kg and work in confined spaces
- Willingness to learn and follow compliance processes.
- Current driver's licence.
- National Police Certificate (we'll assist with the application process)
For Licensed Technicians: Cert II or III in Fire Protection or an electrical licence, with industry experience highly regarded. Cert II applicants can grow into the electrical pathway with company support.
