Functional Business Analyst – AI & Technology Streams

2–3 Month Contract | University Client | Work From Home

We're seeking an experienced Functional Business Analyst to join a leading Australian university on a short-term engagement, working across two high-profile streams.

The Role:

In this position, you'll split your time between:

  1. AI-Driven Strategic Stream – Partnering closely with the executive leadership team on an AI-led initiative. You'll be present in senior meetings, translating strategic objectives into actionable requirements with the highest level of professionalism.
  2. Technology Functional Stream – Gathering and documenting requirements for technology-driven projects, facilitating workshops, and ensuring functional specifications are clear, complete, and aligned with business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with executives and stakeholders to elicit, analyse, and document requirements.
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder interviews.
  • Produce high-quality business requirements, process maps, and functional documentation.
  • Ensure solutions align with strategic objectives and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders.

You'll Bring:

  • Proven experience as a Functional Business Analyst, ideally in higher education or large, complex environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior executives and technical teams.
  • Strong workshop facilitation, requirements gathering, and documentation skills.
  • Experience working across both strategic/AI-driven and technology implementation projects.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Location: Fully remote (Australia-based)
