THE ORGANISATION

The Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand (TSANZ) is a health promotion charity whose mission is to lead, support and enable all health workers and researchers who aim to prevent, cure, and relieve disability caused by lung disease. The TSANZ is the only Peak Body in both Australia and New Zealand that represents all health professionals working in all fields of respiratory health.

The TSANZ is a leading advocate and provider of evidence-based policy for the prevention and management of respiratory conditions in Australia and New Zealand. Providing professional education and training to over 1,800 members.

THE ROLE

The Thoracic Society of Australia & New Zealand (TSANZ) are seeking a Part-time Associate Program Manager – Respiratory Health & Operations (CORDET program). Candidates with experience in delivering Commonwealth funded projects are desirable but an ability to demonstrate strong stakeholder relationships and meet deadlines are essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Your role will require you to ensure the effective delivery of the CORDET initiative (Clinical occupational respiratory disease education and training), a Commonwealth funded project. Working alongside the Senior Health and Education Officer and reporting to the Head of Operations, Membership and Education you will be required to lead the project to its conclusion, managing challenging deadlines, multiple stakeholders and ensuring that costs are controlled.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU MUST HAVE

·      An ability to meet deadlines and continue to drive the project forward.

·      Well-developed attention to detail (this is a core requirement above educational qualifications), organisational, planning, and multi-tasking skills along with the ability to coordinate competing priorities.

·      Experience in an administration, secretariat or project management or coordination role.

·      High-level written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.

·      Professional attitude and experience in managing multiple stakeholder relationships to achieve positive outcomes.

·      Be proficient in MS Office suite

Desirable

·      Exposure to or understanding of the not-for-profit and or health sector.

·      Experience in any area of project management

A recognised Tertiary qualifications or recognised work experience in lieu of post high school education. What is more important than educational qualifications is your attention to detail, ability to communicate and lead a project (this is a core requirement), work ethic, ability to gel with your team, and willingness to lend a hand to make the organisation thrive.
