Junior Purchasing Officer

Our client is a national floorcovering wholesale distribution company servicing Australia for around 50 years. It prides itself in customer satisfaction by offering world class products delivered by their dedicated team.

This is a full-time opportunity at their Mansfield head office.

Key Responsibilities

· Manage efficient stock levels

· Raise purchase orders, raise internal transfers, data entry/receipt of goods - for multiple sites/locations

· Coordinate with external suppliers, sales, and warehouse staff to ensure timely delivery and stock holdings

· Assist in optimisation of freight.

· Maintain accurate purchasing records, inventory data, and supplier documentation.

· Monitor order status and delivery schedules, resolving any delays or issues.

· Prepare reports and support forecasting to improve purchasing decisions

· Recommend process improvements for efficiency and accuracy

Requirements

What We're Looking For

​

· 2 -5 years of experience in inventory, purchasing, supply chain, or stock control

· Experience in ERP Microsoft Dynamics 355 Business Central – desirable

· Good computer skills – Microsoft suite and Excel

· Confident with numbers, reporting, and stock movement analysis

· Great analytical, attention to detail and problem-solving skills

· Excellent organisational and time management skills

· Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
