The Opportunity

As an Apprentice Civil Construction Plant Operator with Southern Utility Group Pty Ltd, you will have the chance to embark on a challenging and rewarding career in the construction industry. This full-time, apprenticeship-based role is based in Wagga Wagga NSW 2650 and will provide you with the hands-on experience and formal training required to become a qualified Civil Construction Plant Operator. We currently have projects across NSW, ACT & VIC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a variety of civil construction plant and equipment, including excavators, hydro-vacs, directional drilling machines, Grundomat equipment, trenchers and skid steer loaders
  • Assist with the completion of civil construction projects, such as site preparation, earthworks, and infrastructure installation
  • Carry out routine maintenance and pre-operational checks on assigned equipment
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
  • Participate in on-the-job training and complete a formal Certificate III in Civil Construction

  • Drivers license (P2 and above preferred but not necessary)
