About the Role
Reporting to the Technology Principal, this position is responsible for developing and maintaining data pipelines and dashboards to support enterprise reporting requirements. The role involves gaining a deep understanding of various functional domains and identifying how technology can support business operations, while also contributing to ideas for business process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth analysis of business requirements to design and implement data pipelines and models aligned with strategic objectives.
- Facilitate the capture and coordination of functional requirements through workshops, interviews, and data analysis techniques.
- Identify opportunities for system and process improvements through refactoring and the adoption of modern technologies.
- Design, build, and maintain efficient ETL pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources into a unified ecosystem.
- Ensure data integrity, quality, and consistency throughout the data lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports to support business intelligence and decision-making.
- Apply expertise in data modelling to support scalable and efficient data architecture.
- Plan, prioritise, and communicate development timelines and deliverables effectively.
- Implement robust data security measures and ensure compliance with access and governance policies.
- Create and execute comprehensive test scripts, including unit, system, integration, and user acceptance testing.
- Document business process flows to support transparency and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrate professional experience working with cloud-based data platforms.
- Apply agile methodologies to manage tasks, collaborate with stakeholders, and deliver iterative improvements.
Experience and Technical Capabilities
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Expert-level proficiency in SQL, with intermediate experience in Python, Java, or Scala.
- Extensive experience in data modelling, including integration with Power BI or equivalent tools.
- Industry experience using Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, and Databricks, or equivalent platforms.
- Strong understanding and application of agile methodologies.
- Extensive experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI or equivalent.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within project teams.
- Excellent collaboration and facilitation skills, with the ability to lead workshops and technical discovery sessions.
