Hancock Energy has a full-time opportunity for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join a team supporting onshore oil and gas projects throughout Western Australia.

This opportunity is within the Finance team reporting into the CFO providing support on finance, accounting, Month end and reporting activities across the organisation. An opportunity to join a start-up environment and embed best practice solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Month end processes and financial statement reporting to Corporate HQ
  • Project and management cost reporting against budget
  • Regulatory reporting on Exploration Permit activities
  • Review and management of Authority for Expenditure (AFE) process
  • Joint Venture cost review and accounting (as Non-Operator)
  • Day to day finance and compliance matters (including some aspects of procurement)
  • Financial advice and support as required
  • BAS preparation
  • Supervision of Accounts Payable function

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 10 Years experience as a Finance specialist
  • Oil & Gas experience is preferred
  • Prior experience with system design and implementation in a start-up business is highly desirable
  • Good collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Highly adaptable and able to operate in a start-up environment
  • Work independently with multiple stakeholders
  • Establish systems, policies and processes
  • Broad experience across multiple industries
  • Experience with different ERP system
