Senior Systems Engineer

  • Location: Canberra (Onsite)
  • Contract: 12 Months (with extensions)
  • Clearance Requirement: Must be an Australian Citizen

As an End User Compute Engineer, you'll be part of a multi-disciplinary team managing and improving end-user technologies, including Windows SOE, device management, and collaboration tools. You'll work closely with colleagues and leads to prioritise tasks, achieve objectives, and maintain strong business relationships. This role requires strong communication, teamwork, and leadership qualities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, maintain, and provide Level 3 support for Windows SOE, device configurations (desktop/iOS), collaboration tools, and remote access solutions.
  • Manage application packaging/deployment and automated patching processes.
  • Provide expert technical advice, and resolve complex escalations.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and app teams to ensure seamless integration.
  • Develop technical documentation, SOPs, and mentor junior engineers.
  • Support upgrades, migrations, service rollouts, and monitor systems for reliability and scalability.

Key Technologies:

Windows, Exchange/Teams, M365, Intune & Group Policy, PowerShell/automation tools.

  • Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise (M365 Pro Plus) – servicing, update channels, licensing
  • Expert knowledge of Windows 11, Intune & Group Policy (including AGPM)
  • Intune MDM/MAM for modern device management
  • MECM (SCCM) + Intune for SOE creation, app packaging & patching
  • Strong technical documentation (SOPs, design docs)

Desirable:

  • Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops (CVAD)
  • Cyber Security (ISM, Essential 8, ACSC guides)
