About the Opportunity

Hatchit Studios is seeking an experienced
Senior Windows Desktop Engineer
to deliver high-quality ICT services within a federal government environment. The role will focus on managing and enhancing
end-user compute platforms
, including Microsoft Windows SOE, Intune device management, enterprise collaboration tools, and automation.

This is a hands-on position requiring strong technical expertise, stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to work across multidisciplinary ICT teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, maintain, and provide
    Level 3 support
    for:
  • Standard Operating Environment (SOE) – desktop/iOS corporate device configurations
  • Enterprise messaging & collaboration platforms (Exchange, Teams, M365)
  • Enterprise remote access solutions (VDI, VPN)
  • Package and deploy applications, manage automated patching processes
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to ensure seamless integration and compliance
  • Provide expert technical advice across supported platforms and represent the team in ICT governance forums
  • Develop and maintain
    technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support upgrades, migrations, and new service rollouts

Skills & Experience Required

  • Strong expertise in
    Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise (M365 Pro Plus)
    – servicing, update channels, licensing
  • Expert knowledge of
    Windows 11, Intune, and Group Policy
    (including Advanced GPO Management)
  • Experience with
    Mobile Device Management (MDM) / Mobile Application Management (MAM) via Intune
  • MECM (SCCM) and Intune –
    SOE creation/maintenance, application packaging & patching
  • Proven experience writing
    technical documentation
    (SOPs, design docs, knowledge articles)

Desirable
:

  • Experience with
    Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD)
  • Knowledge of
    Australian Government Cyber Security frameworks
    (ISM, Essential 8, ACSC hardening guides)
