About the Role:
As a Customer Service Officer at Hume Housing, you are essential in providing outstanding service to our diverse customer base, particularly those with complex needs in the housing sector. You will be the initial point of contact, handling numerous customer inquiries both in person and over the phone. Your duties involve offering guidance on housing assistance, tenancy, and property management, all while maintaining a customer-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Support: Listen, understand, and provide accurate information.
- Workflow Management: Use CRM to triage tasks and manage customer expectations.
- Follow-ups: Keep customers informed with calls and emails.
- Scheduling: Handle appointments, reminders, and admin tasks.
- Housing Advice: Offer guidance, process payments, and manage inquiries.
- Growth Support: Help deliver new services and programs.
- Efficiency: Follow best practices and procedures.
- Development: Engage in training and stay updated with relevant policies and procedures.
- Compliance: Ensure accurate record-keeping within compliance & legislative frameworks.
What we look for in you:
- Proven track record in delivering quality customer service in a high-volume work environment.
- Ability to relate to people from diverse social and cultural backgrounds, including those with complex needs.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage sensitive issues.
- Experience in the Social Welfare sector with knowledge of housing policies and procedures is highly desirable.
- Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office software.
- Relevant qualifications such as Certificate IV or Diploma in Housing, Community Services or Office Administration/Customer Service.
