Are you an experienced plant operator looking to play a hands-on role in building and maintaining essential local infrastructure? Wingecarribee Shire Council is seeking a motivated and reliable Plant Operator to join our construction team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality roads and infrastructure projects across the region.
What You'll Do
As a Plant Operator – Construction, you'll report to the Team Leader Construction, be directly involved in the construction and rehabilitation of Council's road network and other civil assets. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you'll operate medium to large plant and machinery and assist in a range of manual labouring and skilled tasks under supervision.
You Will Also
- Ensure compliance with Council's safety, environmental and quality standards.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and service standards.
- Actively contribute to a positive WHS culture and safe work environment.
- Use sound judgment and initiative to assist in resolving day-to-day site issues.

What You'll Need To Succeed
- Demonstrated experience in construction and/or maintenance (roads and drainage) operating of medium to large plant and machinery relevant to the field equipment including trucks, rollers, excavators and graders, and manual labouring.
- Proven ability to follow instructions within a team environment, and to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
- Demonstrated ability in the use of computer applications, and operating devices effectively, embracing digital solutions for works activities to enable field productivity and scheduling based systems to facilitate day- to-day operations.
- Ability to effectively communicate with key stakeholders in delivering information on operational and maintenance services.
- Hold and maintain MR Drivers Licence, Ticket or Competency qualification to operate Excavator, Grader or Backhoe, and WHS Induction Card
Other Requirements
- Be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical prior to commencement
- Be willing to Participate in on-call roster and overtime (where applicable)
