Your day as a Senior Advisor

As a Senior Advisor in the Policy and Reform team, you'll join a diverse group that leverages financial and non-financial performance data to deliver evidence-based reviews and strategic advice for senior decision makers. The team works across a broad spectrum of social and economic policy areas—including early childhood education and care, education, health, out of home care, criminal justice, Aboriginal outcomes, digital, skills, and customer service—using a whole-of-government approach to tackle complex challenges and recommend solutions for the NSW Government.

In this role, you'll lead projects focused on developing and implementing policy, guidance, and strategies, while building expertise in qualitative and quantitative analysis. Achieve success as Senior Advisor

In this integral role there are a few things we would like for you to have to best support yourself and add value to the people of NSW.

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant fields which may include Business, Commerce, Law, Accounting or Economics.
  • Demonstrated research, analytical, conceptual and strategic thinking skills.
  • Experience in providing high quality policy advice.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to work in a team delivering outcomes to tight deadline.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • A commitment to contributing to an inclusive culture and encouraging diversity of thought.
  • Knowledge of public sector financial and performance management, internal audit and risk management, or governance and compliance issues and trends (desirable).
