Adelaide, South Australia Orion Care Full time $90,000 - $120,000 per year

Join the Orion Care team

About Us

Orion Care started in 2020 and has grown successfully over the last four years, now providing high-quality, in-home services to people living in 40 homes around Adelaide, and rapidly expanding into regional areas of South Australia and into Victoria.

Orion Care's vision is to create inclusive and sustainable local communities where people with complex care needs can thrive in a high quality, friendly and supportive environment. We believe in creating the right home environments where people are treated with humanity and respect and live as an integral part of a welcoming community.

Our mission goes further, championing the rights of every Australian to access home and community services that support them to live their lives to the full, as independently as possible.

Led by our core values – Sincere, Trusted, Attentive, Respectful, and Supportive – we are committed to hiring individuals who demonstrate strong alignment with their own personal values. We prioritise the development and well-being of our staff and teams, making sure everyone at Orion Care has the opportunity to expand their skills and capabilities and progress their career. We embrace diversity and encourage applicants from all backgrounds, including LGBTQI individuals, veterans, carers, and Indigenous Australians.

The Opportunity – Clinical Lead

The Clinical Lead will play a critical role in providing high-quality clinical governance and leadership across Orion Care's Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) communities.

In this role, you will provide oversight and mentoring to support workers and team leaders, ensuring safe and effective delivery of complex and high-intensity supports. You will work closely with participants, families, and stakeholders to promote wellbeing, safeguard participants, and drive a culture of excellence in care.

This is a full-time position, with the expectation of occasional travel to remote locations or interstate as well as participation in the on-call roster.

Make an Impact

  • Champion the Orion Care Way by embedding our values into daily practice, clinical decision-making, and staff culture.
  • Lead clinical governance across multiple sites, ensuring safe and effective care services to our clients in line with NDIS Practice Standards and the Disability Inclusion Act.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and supervision to care teams to strengthen clinical capability and confidence.
  • Ensure timely clinical escalation, risk management, and safeguarding in all participant care.
  • Proactively work with each client's stakeholders to make sure that Orion Care is able address each client's current needs and will also be able to fully support expected future needs.
  • Oversee medication management, high-intensity support practices, and compliance with the NDIS Code of Conduct.
  • Partner with Community Managers to deliver high-quality care environments that result in good participant outcomes and great client experiences, demonstrated through comprehensive documentation and clear communication to stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, audits, and reporting to maintain Orion Care as a leader in quality and safeguarding.

What we are looking for

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Leadership experience with demonstrated ability to train, coach, and supervise staff.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in NDIS, aged care, or community health services.
  • In-depth knowledge of the NDIS Practice Standards, Code of Conduct, and South Australian legislation relevant to disability and health.
  • Skilled in participant clinical care and holistic assessments, using both clinical and non-clinical insights
  • Strong advocate for participants, aligning assessments to secure appropriate NDIS funding and support
  • Understanding of participant choice and control, and ability to safeguard rights while managing risk
  • Knowledge of restrictive practices, incident reporting, investigation, and closing the loop in line with NDIS legislation and standards
  • High-level communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to work with diverse teams, participants, and stakeholders.
  • Accountability and solutions-focused mindset, with the ability to make sound clinical and operational decisions.
  • Compliance with NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check.
