We currently have a rare opportunity for a Head of Product to join our team in Perth.

The Head of Product's role is vital in maintaining and developing business partnerships, understanding the customer needs and ensuring those needs are receiving the highest level of operational service. The role includes shipment & reporting maintenance, accountability of our commercial performance, operational excellence, financial management and relationship development.

Key responsibilities

  • All operational functions, including but not limited to; registration, costing, transport, invoicing, order management are performed
  • Ensure day to day tasks are undertaken and completed in line with the business and customer requirements
  • Ensure the operation department delivers efficiencies through the use of business tools
  • Complete end to end customer service functions, including liaison with relevant stakeholders both locally, interstate and overseas
  • Deliver the specific goals in relation to customer intimacy, value creation, operational excellence and financial improvement
  • Ensure operational stability is maintained with corrective action plans implemented to address on-going issues
  • Monitor and report on a monthly basis the client performance as well as action plans where required
  • Monitor client volume developments
  • Regularly review operational KPI's and ensure agreement and understanding from operations
  • Work with the General Manager to create and implement strategies that provide a solid platform to support long term business success
  • Demonstrate strong awareness and understanding of financial management and cost controlling for customers
  • Maintain SOPs as well as identifying areas for improvement and proposing new solutions to the General Manager
  • Ensure day to day tasks are undertaken and completed in line with the business and customer requirements
  • Ensure completion rates & DETI days meet company KPI's
  • Responsible for Performance Development Appraisals of your direct reports

Skills and experience

  • Studies in a relevant field and / or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in supply chain and operational supervision
  • Exceptional customer service & leadership capability
  • Project management skills
  • Cargowise experience
  • Financial and commercial knowledge
  • Analytical and negotiation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Passion, initiative and drive to continuously develop and service clients with creativity and innovation
