Role description:
Due to consistent growth in our team and a steadily improving pipeline of work in our core business of civil highways engineering, we are seeking expressions of interest for future opportunities with Arcadis for an experienced and motivated Road Designer to join our dynamic team in Perth. This role will focus on designing and developing major highway projects, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and environmental sustainability. The successful candidate will contribute to our ongoing projects with Main Roads Western Australia, playing a critical role in shaping the state's transport infrastructure.

Role accountabilities:

• Create detailed road designs using industry-standard software such as OpenRoads and Civil 3D, ensuring compliance with Main Roads' and other relevant standards.
• Lead the delivery of the Road Design component of projects within agreed budgets and deadlines;
• Provide technical input and innovative solutions to complex road design challenges, ensuring effective and efficient project delivery.Conduct thorough reviews and quality checks of design plans and documentation.
• Ensure the production of project documents that are accurate, clear and concise and compliant with best practice and any other quality standards dictated by the nature of the project; and
• Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to deliver comprehensive road design solutions.

Qualification & Experience:

• A suitable degree or equivalent qualification relevant to Civil Engineering is desirable;
• Relevant road design skills and experience using OpenRoads, Civil 3D or 12D is essential,
• Experience in a project delivery environment with demonstrated participation in the delivery of major road infrastructure projects;
• Proven experience in delivery of MRWA ETS projects is highly desirable,
• Capability to address unexpected challenges and find solutions that meet design criteria and budgetary constraints.
• Knowledge of Austroads Guide to Road Design and Main Roads'Supplements is essential, Knowledge and experience in applying other road agencies standards within Australia is desirable.
• A Knowledge of Main Roads Western Australia CADD standards and deliverables – other road agencies (i.e. TfNSW, VICRoads, QLD TMR) is desirable.
