Be Part of the Australian Catholic Youth Festival 2025

  • Sunday, 30th November – Tuesday, 2nd December 2025
  • Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre (MCEC)

The Australian Catholic Youth Festival (ACYF or the Festival) is a national gathering hosted in Melbourne that will bring together thousands of young Catholics from across Australia to offer a vibrant experience of worship, inspiring speakers, interactive workshops, and meaningful community connections. It serves as a beacon of hope, culminating our Jubilee Year celebrations by empowering young people to encounter Christ and give witness to the hope that does not disappoint – Jesus Christ.

To bring this vision to life, a dedicated volunteer group will be assembled to support various aspects of the festival, including logistics, hospitality, liturgy, and pastoral care.

Volunteer participation, through the offering of your time and talents at the Festival, will be invaluable in creating a welcoming and enriching environment for our youth.

The Archdiocese is committed to providing a safe and welcoming experience for all involved; pilgrims, leaders and chaplains and workforce including Volunteers.

Festival Roles:

Our volunteers will be contributing to the running of the Festival, a sample of some of the roles needed, include:

  • Welcome Officers
  • Pilgrimage walk hosts (Sunday)
  • Zone Wardens (monitoring areas assigned)
  • Door monitors (entry to venue and various spaces).
  • Activity support officers (supporting the logistics planned activities).
  • Crowd monitors (plenary events including concerts)
  • Liturgy team support
  • Venue setup and pack up

What's Involved in being a Volunteer?

Festival volunteers will be invited to participate in a Festival induction process which will include information on:

  1. The Festival Venue and Activities
  2. Volunteering with the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne (CAM)
  3. Role-specific orientation
  4. Safe work practices & safeguarding

Please consider your availability as we will require commitment for at least one day of the Festival:

  • Sunday, 30th Nov – Pilgrimage from St Patrick's Cathedral to MCEC
  • Monday, 1st December / Tuesday, 2nd December – Festival days
