Company Description

For Change Co. is a group of hospitality social enterprises dedicated to tackling youth homelessness in Melbourne. Our enterprises include Crêpes for Change, Catering for Change, and For Change Cafe located in Middle Park, Brunswick, and the Lifeblood Corporate Cafe in West Melbourne.

All profits fund our Pathways for Change program, a paid hospitality training program for young people who have experienced or are at risk of homelessness. Through this program, we provide hands-on training, employability skills, and supportive workplace experience to help young people pave their pathway out of homelessness.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Venue Manager at our Lifeblood Cafe in West Melbourne. The Venue Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the cafe, lead and support staff, manage budgets, and ensure excellent customer service. A key part of the role is mentoring and supporting young trainees as they progress through our Pathways For Change program.

The Lifeblood Cafe offers steady hours (7:00am – 3:00pm, Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays).

Experience

  • Leading a small team of baristas and trainees to deliver excellent service
  • Managing rosters, inventory, budgets, and operational systems
  • Upholding For Change Co.'s standards in quality, safety, and presentation
  • Working closely with the Lifeblood team to maintain a strong, collaborative partnership
  • Training and mentoring young people in their hospitality journey
  • Identifying opportunities for business growth, including menu development and engagement initiatives

  • Salary packaging of up to $15,900 p/a
  • Corporate cafe environment. We're not open to the public, serving only Lifeblood staff
