Hutchins Bros Pty Ltd a family owned, Riverina based Structural Steel Fabrication business has an opportunity for a motivated individual to join our expanding team in the role of Structural Steel Procurement & Inventory Co-Ordinator.

Job tasks and responsibilities

  • Preparation, issue, and tracking of purchase orders and requisitions.
  • Source suppliers and obtain competitive quotes to support procurement needs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and resolve delivery, quality, or invoice issues.
  • Support negotiations on pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Assist with inventory management and stock takes ensuring accurate data is maintained in our ERP system.
  • Collaborate with internal teams across estimating, fabrication, protective coatings and logistics.
  • Maintain clear communication on order progress, delivery timelines, and supplier performance.
  • Support the development and implementation of procurement policies and procedures, and SOPs for supply chain activities.

Skills and experience

  • Must have full working rights in Australia
  • At least 3–5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain roles within the manufacturing or construction industries.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems & Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel skills required. (StruMIS experience a bonus, but not essential)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to develop and maintain sound relationships
  • Ability to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Highly motivated with strong enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
  • Background in structural steel fabrication is advantageous.
  • Must have 3 contactable work related references
