We are currently recruiting three Administrative Assistants to support operational teams within a large, fast-paced local council. These positions sit within the Civil Maintenance and Waste Services teams, providing vital admin support to help deliver key community services.

Whether you've worked in government, construction or simply have solid all-round administration experience-this is an opportunity to bring your organisational strengths to a high-performing, collaborative environment.

About the Roles:

2 x Administrative Assistants - Civil Team
These roles will support civil maintenance teams responsible for roads, drainage, and other community infrastructure. You'll be:

  • Coordinating contractor paperwork, purchase orders and invoicing
  • Tracking service requests and following up with internal teams
  • Supporting work programs with scheduling, recordkeeping, and reporting
  • Assisting with safety compliance documentation and internal processes

1 x Administrative Assistant - Waste Services Team
This role supports the team managing waste collection, disposal and recycling services. You'll be:

  • Providing high-level admin support to the Senior Coordinator Waste Services
  • Managing records, correspondence, and documentation with confidentiality and accuracy
  • Processing invoices and purchase orders as part of procurement and accounts functions
  • Responding to customer enquiries and explaining relevant legislation or service processes
  • Supporting internal systems and ensuring administrative tasks are completed to a high standard
  • Promoting the image of the waste team as a responsive and professional service

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in a fast-paced administrative role (local government experience is a bonus but not essential)
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication - both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of systems like TechOne, TRIM or similar is a plus
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work with different teams
  • A proactive mindset and strong attention to detail
