The Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Developer to join our growing technology team. This position is based at our Canberra office in Kingston. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining modern data feed systems that power our sports betting and trading products. Working closely with other developers, product managers, and partners, you will deliver high-quality software aligned with business goals.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain robust and reliable backend feed services using Go and a wide variety of technologies to support a range of feed architectures to source data

from 3rd party data providers.

• Contribute to system architecture and design decisions ensuring observability, reliability, and maintainability.

• Write clean, maintainable code following best practices and CI/CD processes in GitLab.

• Take ownership of new feeds from concept to deployment, collaborating with other teams and partners as needed.

• Participate in code reviews, pair-programming when beneficial, and technical discussions.

• Mentor more junior software developers; share knowledge within the team.

What We're Looking For

We want someone who loves a good puzzle, thrives in a collaborative environment, and isn't fazed by complex problems.

Essential skills:

• 5+ years professional experience as a software developer.

• Strong proficiency in Go. Proficiency in C# .Net is also acceptable.

• Experience with modern development practices.

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

• Ability to learn quickly, work independently, and manage time effectively.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with agile, distributed teams.

Desirable skills:

• Experience with data feeds, or with sports betting, trading, or odds systems is highly desirable.

• Experience mentoring more junior software developers.

• Knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized deployment.

• Experience with GitLab or equivalent CI/CD platforms.

• Experience with AWS, but equivalents may be considered.

• Any exposure or experience in Go would be a bonus
