Role Description

This is a part-time on-site role based in Canberra for a Software Engineer. The Software Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining software applications, participating in all phases of the software development lifecycle, programming, and implementing object-oriented programming (OOP) techniques. The role includes collaboration with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and ensure software quality.

Key responsibilities:

  • Research, consult, analyse, and evaluate system program needs within AI-focused projects
  • Identify limitations in existing software systems and propose enhancements
  • Develop, test, debug, and maintain application code in line with AI model integration and system requirements
  • Write and maintain code according to technical specifications and best practices
  • Document technical processes, software logic, and end-user procedures
  • Collaborate with AI researchers, data scientists, and other engineers to deliver robust software solutions
  • Provide input on architecture, cost evaluation, and technology selection for new and existing projects

Qualifications

  • Strong background in Computer Science
  • Proficiency in Back-End Web Development and Software Development
  • Programming skills, including knowledge of various programming languages like Python , JavaScript.
  • Experience with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively
  • Familiarity with AI technologies and their applications is a plus

Preferred:

  • Experience with cloud platform (AWS).
  • Strong Knowledge of python and javascript.
  • Exposure to AI/ML concepts and integration.
  • Knowledge of DevOps tools.
  • Previous startup or product-based company experience.
