Location: Char House

Position: Casual Front-of-House Waitstaff

Pay Rate: $ $38.78 an hour

Join the opening team at Char House, a brand-new upscale steakhouse dedicated to delivering exceptional food, polished service, and a warm, elegant dining experience. We're looking for hospitality professionals who take pride in their work and have a passion for food, wine, and creating memorable guest moments.

While fine dining experience is not required, a solid background in quality hospitality environments and an understanding of elevated service standards is essential.

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience in hospitality or guest-facing roles (restaurant, hotel, events, etc.)
  • Confident knowledge of food, wine, and service etiquette — or a strong desire and willingness to learn
  • Professional presence with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive, confident attitude with a team-oriented mindset
  • Ability to stay composed, attentive, and detail-focused in a fast-paced setting
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and seat guests with warmth and professionalism
  • Provide full table service throughout the dining experience
  • Explain the menu and answer guest questions with confidence
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders and process payments (EFTPOS/cash)
  • Guide guests through steak cuts and wine pairings with knowledge and enthusiasm
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and elegant section at all times
  • Polish cutlery, clean plates, and reset tables to fine dining standards
  • Assist teammates and adapt to busy periods with a collaborative, can-do attitude
  • Create a welcoming, elevated atmosphere that aligns with the Char House experience
  • Anticipate guest needs and go above and beyond to exceed expectations
