The maintenance fitters' primary concern is the efficient maintenance and repair of facilities and plant & equipment of the Group.
The Maintenance fitter will review plant and other maintenance issues, and decipher problems to determine the best resolution/s with regard to time and cost.
Strong interaction with employees working in associated roles forms a major part of this role requirements.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accountability for maintenance and repair (Mechanical & Electrical).
- Lead efforts to upgrade plant/facility for efficiency, safety and reliability
- Plant and equipment regulatory requirements;
- Safety and sanitation requirements.
- Develop and maintain preventative maintenance programs.
- Lead projects involving installation, modification, or renovation of building, plant and equipment;
- Collaborate with engineers, suppliers and monitor or plan jobs to be completed by outside contractors.
- Control costs, scheduling and development of maintenance activities
- Manage repairs, supplies, purchases and budget set by reporting Manager;
- On call for emergency repairs required outside regular hours.
- Actively attending to all the maintenance requests and updating the maintenance log
- Actively attending to all OH&S Hazard rectification requests
- Managing maintenance procedures and records as per ISO 9001:2015.
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:
- Formal Trade qualifications as a Fitter
- Restricted Electrical Licence
- Australian Motor Vehicle Driving Licence and Forklift Licence
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- A proactive approach with an attention to detail and a proven ability to prioritise and multitask
- Understanding of the manufacturing process and production priorities
- Able to operate Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word & Excel.
- Previous exposure to plastic injection molding machines, their auxiliaries; mobile and fixed plant equipment used in assembly, general welding skills and general machining capabilities would be an advantage.
EXPERIENCE
Experience in a similar role, minimum 5 years, would be considered ideal. The following minimum experience needs to be demonstrated:
- Pneumatics and Hydraulics
- plastic injection molding machines and their auxiliaries
- general mobile and fixed plant & equipment used in production
- general welding & soldering skills
- general machining capabilities
- general electrical & electronics work relating to industrial situations
- Strong commitment to OH&S in the workplace
