Primary objective

To manage the quality and compliance of the training delivered by the Northern Territory Fire and Rescue Service (NTFRS) as part

of the Fire and Emergency Services Agency. Be responsible for the implementation of quality standards, policies and procedures

in line with the requirements of the Tri-Service Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Principal source of advice and guidance for all ASQA regulatory activities affecting NTFRS. Develop and maintain internal

validation and audit schedules, reports, records, documents and processes.

2. Provide advice and support to the District Officer in the development of long term strategic and annual operating plans for

Training in the NTFRS.

3. Participate in the development and maintenance of information recording and storage systems to meet RTO requirements.

4. Liaise with the RTO Manager and manage the RTO requirements in conjunction with Training and Development Staff.

5. Develop and maintain effective partnerships with staff, NT training regulatory bodies, Tri-service RTO and other external

stakeholders.

6. Manage the preparation of reports, documents and processes for projects undertaken.

7. Supervision of Workforce/Learning Development Officers to ensure projects and tasks are completed in a timely manner.

8. Develop, manage and review training resources for currency, compliance and quality assurance.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Highly developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, with the ability to consult, collaborate and negotiate

effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders internally and externally and proven ability of high-level interaction with national

and jurisdictional organisations.

  1. Proven experience in the VET Training Framework, with well-developed knowledge of contemporary training and assessment

strategies to ensure training and development operates in accordance with the RTO's legislative and regulatory requirements.

  1. Proven experience in developing policy, procedures and instructions.
  2. Demonstrated experience in staff management with proven ability to effectively lead, manage and provide guidance in a

changing service delivery environment, including WHS principles and diversity inclusion.

5. Advanced skills in current and emerging application software to develop training and assessment documentation.

Desirable

1. Tertiary qualification in the relevant discipline e.g. Vocational Training, Development and Adult Education, Human Resource

Development.

2. Hold a current Certificate IV in TAE.
