Your Opportunity:
This is a hands-on position that provides leadership, support, and direction to the Operations Teams within the factory at the Erskine Park. Responsible for safety, production planning, manufacturing efficiency, quality and performance in collaboration with Tyrecycle's Sales, Collections and Operations Teams.
The key objectives of this role are to:
- Drive a culture of safety through leadership, role modelling and compliance to safety systems
- Coordinate shift scheduling and overtime
- Perform weekly/monthly stocktakes of finished products
- Daily Planning, Tracking and management of export containers
- Drive improvement in quality standards across the site, ensuring manufactured products meet all quality standards and specifications
- Identify, make recommendations, and drive continuous improvements
- Identify business risks with recommendations to eliminate / mitigate
- Drive plant performance standards including downtime and efficiency
- Assist with implementation of Lean Manufacturing methodologies including but not limited to 5S, Daily Operations Management process, Visual Management, teamwork, and autonomous maintenance
- Manage the operations team through strong and robust people management processes and effective communication
About You:
- Proven leadership and people management experience within a manufacturing environment
- Sound understanding of mechanical equipment and safety and environmental aspects of manufacturing
- Experience in Export Container management through tracking and planning, highly regarded
- Strong ability to problem solve and ability to think creatively
- Excellent work ethic and values importance of producing quality products
- Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills
- Desire to challenge existing processes and procedures to drive continuous improvement
- Experience in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Valid Forklift licence and/or mobile plant tickets, highly regarded
