We are excited to invite applications from seasoned capture management/ business development professionals from across Australia for this Test and Evaluation (T&E) oriented role. T&E is a key distinctive offering for QinetiQ, with the Australian customer shaping their thinking on T&E across all domains, including Guided Weapons, Submarine and Surface Fleet, QinetiQ has the opportunity to shape customer thinking and develop a compelling customer proposition, drawing and tailoring the experience from the UK.
In terms of location; whilst Canberra is a hub for activity and a preferred location, candidates in Adelaide, Brisbane or Melbourne are also encouraged to apply.
Reporting to the Group Director Strategic Campaigns (UK) and dotted line to AU Sector Chief Growth Officer, the successful candidate will also work alongside other QinetiQ Group & Australian and UK Defence Sector executives, leading a multi-disciplinary and fully funded Capture Team with the sole purpose of securing a substantial lead role relating to T&E in Australia.
The Capture Lead – Test & Evaluation will be accountable for:
Development and approval from the Growth Leadership Team for your Capture Strategy including associated business development investments. Defining win strategies, value propositions and partnership models that maximise competitive advantage and align with customer mission outcomes
Building and maintaining relationships at a senior management level and providing support and insight to the Capture to drive the long term outcomes, in year orders and order intake pipeline growth
Demonstrating timely and successful delivery through strong leadership of both a direct and virtual team
Influencing customer requirements, procurement strategies and acquisition approaches to align with company capabilities and strategic objectives
Delivering the order intake and order intake pipeline in accordance with the expectations stated in the campaign (capture) objectives, focusing on both short and long term objectives, building sustainable revenue and profit
Securing a substantial and leading role for QinetiQ in T&E in Australia
Leading end-to-end capture of major strategic opportunities from initial identification through to proposal submission and contract award.
Conducting thorough competitive assessments and develop counter-strategies to position the company for success

As a suitably experienced and well- rounded Capture management professional, the Capture Lead – Test and Evaluation will have:
A proven track record in hands on execution of major captures in a competitive terrain, preferably with formal training in recognised best practice
A background in major captures in the Maritime Domain
A proven track record in cradle to grave execution of win strategies, implementing Capture through effective bid management and direction
Solid experience working in Defence and Secure Government environments with particular focus on Defence and Aerospace markets within those environments
An established network with the Defence and Secure Government markets with strong reputation built upon consistent delivery
Strong collaboration ethos with both internal and external stakeholders, you will also have the ability to collaborate internally in a complex environment to both determine QinetiQ's compelling proposition and take the organisation on a journey, challenging the status quo of how QinetiQ delivers the current services where necessary
Proven ability to lead teams of senior professionals that span business and functional boundaries
Deep customer domain knowledge and relationships, ability to provide thought leadership to customers in complex domains and develop compelling QinetiQ propositions to deliver on this thought leadership
Relevant experience of winning business with customers and industrial partners in a demonstrably similar environment.
Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be eligible for Australian Defence security clearance. Current security clearance is advantageous.
