About us

Catherine McAuley College opened its doors in 2022, in order to meet the growing demand for a quality, Catholic Education in the Mackay region. Starting with pioneering Year 7's in 2022, they will grow into a complete Years 7 to 12 profile by 2027.

Built on the former site of the historic Mackay Sugar Research Institute, our brand new college offers first class facilities to cater for staff and students to ensure the delivery of quality teaching and learning practices.

Your Role

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and enthusiastic persons for Classroom Support Assistants to commence January 2026. These positions are term-time continuing, for 30 hours per week.

Successful applicants for this position will be able to demonstrate:

• the ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality in dealing with young people and their needs
• the ability to work well either individually or in a team and to accept direction and support

About you

The successful applicant will have relevant experience and an understanding of, and a commitment to, the ethos of Catholic Education. In addition, you will have excellent time management skills, well developed interpersonal skills and a high proficiency of computer skills.

Mandatory Requirements

• A current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 (WWC Act) and valid Suitability Notice is a requirement of the position.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.
