About the role

Happy Faces Disability Support is seeking experienced Disability Support Workers to join our dedicated team in Lavington, NSW. As a casual Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with a range of disabilities, helping them to live independently and achieve their goals.

What you'll be doing

  1. Assisting clients with their daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
  2. Providing companionship, social engagement, and community participation opportunities for clients
  3. Advocating for clients' rights and ensuring their needs are met
  4. Communicating effectively with clients.
  5. Maintaining detailed records and documentation to ensure continuity of care
  6. Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and safety protocols

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role, providing support to individuals with disabilities
  2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients
  3. Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to making a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities
  4. Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices in the disability support sector
  5. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, in a flexible and adaptable manner
  6. Relevant qualifications, such as a Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent
