About the role

Stevens Group is seeking motivated either one Qualified Tradesman or a 3rd/4th Year Apprentice, plus one 1st Year Apprentice to join our First Fix Carpentry team. You'll be working on residential framing projects across Adelaide and surrounding areas.

This is a full-time opportunity offering hands-on experience, mentoring from highly skilled carpenters, and the foundations for a long-term career in construction.

Our First Fix Carpentry team works exclusively with timber, focusing on the installation of structural elements such as stud walls, floor trusses, roof trusses, timber flooring for both single- and two-storey dwellings, window installation.

Key Details:

  • Full-time position
  • Standard hours: 7.00am – 4.00pm, Monday to Friday, Saturday work as required
  • Work involves building frames for new residential homes (walls, roofs, and everything in between)
  • Projects are located across Adelaide (inner suburbs, outer north/south, Adelaide Hills, etc.) – locations vary frequently

What you'll be doing

  • Carry out first fix carpentry duties, primarily framing for major builders across SA
  • Read and interpret architectural plans and building specifications
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Assist senior carpenters with day-to-day onsite duties (apprentices)
  • Provide leading hand support with daily onsite responsibilities (tradesman)
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment

What We're Looking For

  • 1st Year Apprentice with licence (must be eligible to enter an official Australian apprenticeship – applicants on visas or job-ready programs are ineligible)
  • 3rd or 4th year Apprentice with licence (same eligibility requirements as above)
  • Qualifies Tradesman
  • Commitment to completing a carpentry apprenticeship (for apprentices)
  • Genuine passion for carpentry and construction
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
  • Safety-conscious with a positive team attitude
  • White Card (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
  • Driver's licence and own vehicle (essential as job sites vary daily)
