About the Role

We are seeking a Research Fellow to join a dynamic team investigating the neuroscience of ageing, using the model organism Caenorhabditis elegans. Under the guidance of Chief Investigator Dr Yee Lian Chew, the successful candidate will play a key role in designing and conducting experiments, analysing data, and preparing manuscripts for publication. This position is part of an ARC-funded project (DP , which is scheduled to conclude in June 2026. As such, the role requires strong technical expertise to complete the remaining experimental work and contribute to high-quality research outputs.

The Research Fellow will also be expected to actively disseminate research findings through publications and conference presentations and assist in the development of applications for external research funding. Working with a collaborative research team, the Fellow will receive broad supervision from Dr Chew and will co-supervise Honours and HDR students.

About You

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

  • A completed PhD in Neuroscience or a closely related discipline.

  • A strong track record of research outputs, including high-quality publications, competitive grant success, and presentations at national and international neuroscience conferences.

  • Ability to critically evaluate scientific literature and contribute to focused reviews in neurodegenerative disease research.

  • Capacity to plan, execute, and analyse experiments efficiently and independently.

  • Experience supervising undergraduate and PhD-level students in a research setting.
