About the role

Hammond Nguyen Turnbull, a leading law firm in Parramatta, NSW, is seeking an experienced Family Lawyer to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis. As a Family Lawyer, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality legal services to our clients, specialising in family law matters.

What you'll be doing

  • Advise clients on a wide range of family law matters, including complex financial matters (with multiple entities / parties involved), complex parenting matters (with international aspects / Hague aspects), matters where the pool is so much more than a "house & garden" case, matters that involve ADVOs / employment issues, matters across Australia (particularly WA and QLD matters), Applications for Consent Orders, Binding Financial Agreements, Binding Child Support Agreements.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings and negotiations, ensuring their interests are effectively advocated for. This includes attendance at Mentions, Directions Hearings, Mediations, Conciliation Conferences, Compliance and Readiness Hearings, Interim Hearings and Final Hearings.
  • Conduct legal research, prepare legal documents, and assist with the overall case management process;
  • Collaborate with other team members with specific specialties within family law to develop and implement tailored strategies for each client;
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in family law legislation and regulations to provide the best possible legal guidance;

  • Graduates and junior solicitors are welcome to apply;
  • Understanding of family law principles, procedures, and regulations;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and effectively advocate on their behalf;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and find solutions to legal challenges
  • Proficient in legal research, document drafting, and case management
  • Commitment to providing exceptional client service and upholding the highest ethical standards
