We are looking for an experienced Asset Engineer to join a progressive Local Council team for a 7 week temporary contract.

This role is predominantly office-based with some site inspections and will suit a qualified civil engineer with a strong background in drainage and professional engineer registration.

In this role, you will contribute to the assessment and approval of civil engineering works, drainage enquiries, flood level reviews, and building over easement applications. You will provide specialist advice on planning referrals, manage customer requests, and liaise with developers and contractors to ensure Council's assets are protected.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and approve civil plans, computations, drainage applications, and flood level information.
  • Provide engineering advice on planning and building development applications.
  • Manage drainage enquiries and customer requests relating to civil infrastructure.
  • Review and contribute to major projects and development proposals.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure Council's infrastructure standards are met.

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or relevant discipline).
  • Registered Professional Engineer (Professional Engineer Certification of Registration).
  • Strong technical knowledge of stormwater drainage, flood modelling, and civil design.
  • Proven experience in asset management and civil engineering within Local Government or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Current Victorian Driver's Licence.
