Your new roleAs the newest Asset Engineer in the team, you will provide technical and operational support for a range of renewable energy assets such as BESS, Solar, and Wind. These assets will be at various stages of the project lifecycle, from early development through to operations. This role will also give the successful candidate the opportunity to develop their non-technical skills related to finance, and commercial and stakeholder management.
What you'll need to succeed
- A Bachelor of Electrical Engineering is required.
- 1-6 years of engineering experience in the energy sector preferably
- Strong understanding of synchronous and asynchronous power generation principles.
- Experience with SCADA systems, underground HV/MV cable reticulation, switchgear, power transformers, reactive plant, control systems, and more.
- Experience in driving continuous improvement, leading to enhanced business performance.
- Familiarity with mechanical systems, including rotating plant, hydraulic systems, heat exchangers, and gearboxes.
- Knowledge of the application of National Electricity Rules to operational generation assets, particularly as they apply to Generator Performance Standards.
- Familiarity with the operation of the National Electricity Market (NEM), AEMO and TNSP processes
- Knowledge of asset life maintenance planning, including whole-of-life budgeting.
- Willingness to develop into new or adjacent technical areas with support.
- Interest in developing non-technical skills related to finance, commercial, and stakeholder management.
