Position: Student Services Officer
Type: Full-Time, Ongoing

Ready to make a real difference for students, families, and staff – with the support of a knowledgeable colleague? At Macquarie Grammar School, you will join our team as one of two Student Services Officers, working closely alongside an experienced SSO. Together, you will provide a seamless and friendly first point of contact for all student and parent enquiries, and be core members of our administration and wellbeing team. In this varied and people-focused role, you'll support both domestic and international students across Years 7–12, manage student administration and attendance, support events and communications, and help keep our community thriving.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate as part of a dedicated SSO duo, providing key contact for student and parent enquiries
- Manage attendance, lateness, and absence records with a high degree of accuracy and compliance (NESA, ESOS, CRICOS)
- Deliver student orientation and ongoing guidance regarding school policies, resources, and wellbeing supports
- Liaise compassionately and effectively with parents, guardians, and teaching staff concerning student performance and welfare
- Coordinate referrals for academic, wellbeing, counselling, or welfare services as required
- Organise and support school activities, events, excursions, and integration for both domestic and international students
- Provide IT support, including assisting with systems such as Compass and Schoolbox
- Help design and deliver engaging school events and communications, including newsletters, social media, and marketing materials
- Maintain strict confidentiality and cultural sensitivity in all interactions
- Work collegially as part of a committed staff team, and assist with administration and special projects as needed
About You
- Fluency in Vietnamese and English is essential
- Proven experience in student services, school administration, or a related field such as teaching, HR, psychology, marketing, communications, or travel
- Confident and capable with Microsoft Office suite, including Word and Excel; experience with school management systems such as Compass, TAS, Synergetic, and/or Schoolbox is highly regarded
- Exceptional attention to detail and proven organisational skills
- Collegial, community-minded, and proactive – you are known for showing initiative and building positive relationships
- Experience working in a school is highly desirable
- Demonstrated cross-cultural communication skills and commitment to inclusiveness
- Ability to handle confidential matters with professionalism and discretion
- Holds a current Working With Children Check (WWCC) and valid Australian work rights
