Position: Machine Operator

We are seeking motivated, reliable, and experienced Machine Operators to join our dynamic team. Positions are available on both the day and afternoon shifts. The afternoon shift operator will initially complete training on the day shift (6.00am – 2.30pm) before transitioning to the afternoon shift (2.30pm – 11.00pm). Starting on a casual basis, successful candidates will have the opportunity to transition to a full-time position. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for the operation, set-up, adjustment, and minor maintenance of automated bagging machinery – primarily Vertical Form Fill Seal (VFFS) lines such as TNA and Atlas systems – to ensure continuous production output, efficiency, and quality standards are achieved.

You will work as part of a team on robotic packaging lines within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, ensuring machinery operates safely, efficiently, and consistently in line with SOPs, safety, and quality standards.

• Set up, calibrate, and operate VFFS machines (TNA, Atlas) and associated robotic packaging equipment in accordance with production schedules and job specifications.
• Conduct pre-start safety and quality checks, ensuring all parameters meet operational standards.
• Monitor line performance and product quality, making real-time adjustments to temperature, sealing, film alignment, and product feed rates as required.
• Identify and troubleshoot minor faults or stoppages to minimise downtime.
• Accurately record production data including run rates, yields, waste, and quality results.
• Handle and label finished product in line with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and SOP requirements.
• Work collaboratively with maintenance and quality teams to ensure smooth production flow and continuous improvement of the robotic lines.

Experience:

To be successful in this role you will need:

• Previous experience operating VFFS machinery (e.g. TNA, Atlas, Ishida, or similar) in a food or FMCG environment.
• Previous experience setting, operating, adjusting and maintaining production machines within a food manufacturing process
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand machine settings, control panels, and production blueprints.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team. Understand both verbal and written instructions
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Machine Operator in assembly/production/packing line position
• Proactive self-starter, positive, energetic, tenacious, adaptable and hands-on, with proven capacity to solve problems, and work independently and unsupervised
• Team player who can accept direction and work within the context of a plan or a broader goal
• Able to operate in pallet jacks/ walkie stackers
• Keen eye for detail and commitment to product quality.
