About Us:

Active Tennis Academy, located at Happy Valley Tennis Club—one of South Australia's premier clubs with 10 ATP-standard courts, a modern clubhouse, and a fantastic viewing area—is growing fast. Our goal is to expand junior, adult, and high-performance coaching programs at the club, as well as through partnerships with local schools and organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Junior Coach at Active Tennis Academy, you will:

  • Deliver coaching programs for juniors, adults, groups, and private lessons.
  • Assist with school-based programs, junior development squads, and holiday clinics.
  • Collaborate with the Head Coach and League Coordinator to organize junior and adult competition teams, social play, and events.
  • Foster a positive, engaging, and fun environment for players of all ages and abilities.

Skills and Qualifications:

We are looking for someone with:

  • Strong technical tennis knowledge and effective communication skills.
  • A Tennis Australia Level 1 qualification (or equivalent), or a willingness to obtain one.
  • The ability to create structured, engaging training programs.
  • A passion for helping players improve across all levels, with a focus on junior development.
  • A valid Working with Children Check.

  • A cooperative team player who can work well with coaches, staff, and club members.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring players, with a focus on creating a positive learning environment.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to support social play activities at the club.

Days/Hours per Week:

  • Flexible hours, including mornings, late afternoons/evenings, and weekends.
  • Opportunity to grow quickly into a 30-hour per week role, with some Saturday and Sunday mornings included.

Compensation:

  • Pay will be based on experience and qualifications.
  • Bonuses are offered based on lesson retention, rewarding your ability to build lasting coaching relationships with students.
  • Additional desirable skills stringing and general admin proficiency.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Casual

Pay: $25.00 – $55.00 per hour
