The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced lawyer to join the Capital and Funding team at a key Australian banking institution, providing specialist legal support across debt and equity capital markets, securitisation, and corporate advisory matters. Working closely with Group Treasury, this role will see you advising on complex capital and funding transactions, assisting with risk management activities, and reviewing periodic reporting documentation.

You will play a key role in executing and advising on debt and equity capital market transactions, supporting the development of funding structures, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory and disclosure requirements. This position offers exposure to high-profile projects and a collaborative environment within a leading financial institution.

Key Requirements

  • 3–5 years' post-qualification experience in capital markets, securitisation, or corporate advisory
  • Strong experience advising on debt and/or equity capital market transactions
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial markets, corporate funding, and regulatory frameworks
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Proven ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Group Treasury and finance teams
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, commercial legal advice
  • This role could be fulfilled by a lawyer located in Melbourne or Sydney
