POSITION DESCRIPTION
The position of Creative Arts Assistant will be responsible for providing direct support and assistance to the Creative Arts Teachers and contributing to the maintenance and development of safe working Creative Arts classroom and storeroom environments. This position will form part of a team and work closely with, and take direction from, the Creative Arts and Languages Leader of Learning and members of the School Leadership Team. The Creative Arts Assistant prepares for, and cleans up after lessons, handles and displays artworks and assists with processes to ensure the efficient running of the day-to-day program or varied extra-curricular activities and timetabled lessons in Visual Arts, Visual Design, Photography, Drama and Music.
Skills and Experiences:
EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA
- Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and a personal commitment to Catholic education and the mission of the Church through Catholic schools.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and communicate with school staff, students and the community
- Sound understanding of, and commitment to WH&S standards and requirements including maintaining records such as Chemical Safety Records (MSDS)
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a safe working environment
- Demonstrated experience in a school setting or equivalent
- Demonstrated capacity to maintain and use materials specific to the teaching and creation of art/ drama/music
- Demonstrated capacity to undertake inventory management and ordering systems in a school setting or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to plan and organise production sequences to ensure teaching efficiency
QUALIFICATIONS
- Qualifications in building and/or carpentry or relevant experience(desirable)
- Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) number.
- Willingness to Comply with the CSO Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead Policy. Category A Accreditation to Work.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary is in accordance with New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2023.
