About the role

As a Mechanic and an ADAS Calibration Technician at DC Tyre & Auto Services, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe operation of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) in a range of modern vehicles. In this full-time position based in Forrestdale WA 6112, you will be responsible for accurately calibrating ADAS components to manufacturer specifications, keeping vehicles up-to-date and road ready.

What you'll be doing

  • Inspect vehicle engines and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately.
  • Inspect vehicle computers and electronic systems to repair, maintain and upgrade.
  • Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.) aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity.
  • Schedule future maintenance sessions and advise clients on good vehicle use.
  • Repair or replace broken and dysfunctional parts and fix issues.
  • Provide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair maintenance job.
  • Keep logs on work and issues
  • Maintain equipment and tools in good condition
  • Wheel alignments
  • Replace and repair tyres
  • Calibration of Advanced Driver Assist Systems
  • Utilise specialised equipment and software to complete calibration tasks to the highest standards
  • Assist with the training of apprentices and junior employees
  • Maintain detailed records of all ADAS work carried out
  • Participate in ongoing training to stay up to date with the latest ADAS technologies

What we're looking for

  • Strong understanding of automotive systems, particularly ADAS technologies.
  • Ability to use scan tools and diagnostic equipment to identify and troubleshoot ADAS faults.
  • Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods.
  • Ability to handle various tools and heavy equipment.
  • Knowledge of calibration procedures and the use of specialised tools for various ADAS sensors and systems.
  • Ability to analyse complex issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Effectively communicate technical information to colleagues and customers. Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
