About the role

Albury Spice Cafe PTY LTD in Albury - Wodonga, NSW, is seeking an experienced and talented Chef/Cook to join our dynamic team at Green zebra cafe and Spiceblast Wodonga. As a full-time position, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of delicious dishes for our customers. Reporting to the Head Chef, you will play a key role in maintaining the high standards of our Restaurant and cafe.

What you'll be doing

  • Prepare and cook a range of meals and dishes to the highest quality standards
  • Prepare and cook food for all the various outlets ( Green Zebra cafe and SpiceBlast Wodonga )
  • Managing The Tandoor section for naans , managing Charcoal Grill for Tikka's
  • ⁠Italian Cuisine : Knowledge of Italian cuisine and a passion for showcasing the authentic flavors of Italy.
  • Experience and training to operate Commercial Pasta machine to make fresh pasta , Ravioli and gnocchi.
  • Ensure all food preparation and cooking is carried out in compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Assist in menu development and provide input on new dish ideas
  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to deliver a seamless dining experience for our customers
  • Adhere to stock control and inventory management processes

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 1 years' experience as a Chef/Cook in a cafe or restaurant environment
  • Seasoned culinary professional with a creative flair and in-depth understanding of Indian spices, textures, and techniques
  • Knowledge of Italian cuisine and a passion for showcasing the authentic flavors of Italy.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and presentation
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
  • A passion for creating delicious, high-quality meals
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Food safety and hygiene certification
