About the role

We are seeking a friendly and customer-focused Bakery Retail Assistant to join our team at Lawnton Country Markets Bakery. As a casual Bakery Retail Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing excellent customer service and ensuring our bakery operates smoothly.

What you'll be doing

  • Greeting and assisting customers at the bakery counter, providing recommendations and processing sales transactions
  • Maintaining the bakery display, restocking products and ensuring an inviting, clean and organised retail space
  • Providing excellent customer service and creating a positive experience for all customers
  • Assisting with food preparation tasks as required, such as packaging baked goods
  • Following all food safety and hygiene procedures to ensure the highest standards are upheld
  • Supporting the bakery team with other duties as needed to contribute to the overall success of the business

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience in a customer service or retail role, ideally within the food or hospitality industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and helpful demeanour
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently and accurately
  • Adaptability and the willingness to take on a variety of tasks as required
  • A genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service
  • The ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and public holidays
